Fresh thoughts

  Since I was a little girl, I had gone to the beach to see my family at La Serena, I had a group of friends that I love to hang out with and party too but is has been a long time since I saw them because I have been trying new things in the last few years. In this opportunity I want to camp out at Conguillio national park by myself for over a week, this year I also must work during my summer holidays, so I won’t be able to go out of Santiago for months, but I want to have the chance to disconnect of all the responsibilities and been surrounded by nature. It’s important to me to be myself this time, over four years ago I went with my ex-boyfriend, it was magical and cute, but I didn’t get the chance to do everything that I wanted to do because we went for only two days, and he didn’t want to stay for more.  To those who haven't tried being a plant mom/dad, this is the moment to get into it.  Since 2019 and the pandemic I have grown love to keeping houseplants, the first one I got was succulent, they are really easy to take care of and it has taught me a lot.  To be honest plants themselves have taught me a lot about how to be disciplined, to measure how much I give; for example, one could think that the only thing they need is just water and sun, but too much water can drown them and kill them or too much sun exposure can burn them. They also need different kinds of soil according to the needs of the plant.  My favorite plant at the moment is a Monstera deliciosa, first its a really trendy plant, and when I got it last year it was just one leaf and dirt, but today its the biggest plant I got, I think it's over the meter and it takes a lot of space in my room make it look like I jungle, I feel so connected to nature when taking care of my plants, also they have been so ...

  When I'm a post-graduate I would like to get a master's in art history, I have been doing some research and of the options available I would like to study at the University of Amsterdam, they have an amazing curriculum, and the chance of studying and living there for over two years (the time that it takes)sounds unbelievable. Amsterdam is one of the best cities culturally wise, also it has an amazing young life and I have always dreamed to live abroad and traveling the world. The thing I like the most about getting a degree in art history, besides liking a lot the subject and believing one of the things that I love the most, is that it gives me the chance to become a researcher, investigate and write about it plus I can develop an academic career and become a university teacher, and it would a dream come true. I only wish to make it!

  I have always dreamed about working, for some reason I found it kind of fun, being an adult and all the work it implies. To be really working it´s different, at my current job I have to do very mechanic stuff so it can get a little bit boring at times.  But if I can dream about it, I dream of being a professor at college and doing art history lessons, I would love being in the classroom talking about art and the events that have transpired through history for it ends how it ends. I also would love to travel to expand my knowledge about it, to be honest, the salary it´s not that important to me right now, if I can live a simple, peacefully little life I´ll be more than happy, no matter how much money I make.  I´m doing an art major at the moment to learn all about the techniques, and when I graduate I will do a teaching career at the same university to have a degree and be a high school teacher that I will also love to experience, to be able to allow young kids to expres...

Before getting into arts at this university, I studied three years of law school in another establishment, so yes it was a really difficult decision not only dicing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life when I was only 18 years old But also having the guts to quit my other career that I was pretty advanced on and moving into an artistic one.  When I was in high school I used to get really good grades in history and language so the obvious choice was a humanistic career, even tho I had shown interest in arts, my family kind of diced for me and choose law school, I was happy at the begging but meanwhile, my career was advancing I started to really hate it, I use to cry all day, even in class, and have no drive to go to classes or even to live at some point. I hit bottom and realized that it's not fair to be unhappy just to fit into the standards of my family, so I took the decision and dropped out.  Now I´m the happiest I have ever been, to be honest, I never expect to do ...

 In my opinion, one of the best movies I have ever watched is "Midnight in Paris, I actually don't watch a lot of movies so this is a very special case. This movie was directed by Woody Allen, and the cast is really cool conformed of Owen Wilson and Rachel Adams.  The thing I like the most is the photography, which is absolutely stunning, showing the Paris scenario in a way that makes it so dreamy. Also the trama I found really creative, without saying too much, that time traveling in Paris just makes it so magical, a bit romantic and full whit historic and cultural characters that played an important part in the modern era. To be honest, I have seen this movie a bunch of times and I never get bored, I recommend it 100%.

This summer I went to the best concert of my life in Recoleta, Santiago, Chile. It was of my favorite band “La Brígida Orquesta”, a Chilean rap band whose special characteristic is the fusion of a jazz orchestra  and hip-hop music, there are about 20 people in the scenario, and one that is raping the lyrics which is Matiah Chinaski, also one of my favorites artists. The atmosphere was incredible, it was a small space but I was on the front road and the place was packed, the air was concentrated but everybody had an amazing vibe. I felt like in another dimension, actually stocked with the musicians' quality and the things they share in the scenario. I remember when they played my favorite song and I just started crying because of the emotions that I can feel, at the end, I reached one of the guys that play the saxophone and I thank him for the experienced and when I saw the tears on his eyes for the emotional moment that we just lived.

Since I was a little girl I have dreamed of traveling the world, I remember making a list of all the countries I hoped to visit someday.  Nowadays my dream for the future is to study art history abroad, and if I think of a perfect place to do that it would be the Netherlands, specifically in Amsterdam, a city characterized by its multicultural, forward-thinking, developed economy and fantastic landscapes. I picture myself riding my bike to the campus, learning my favorite subject in an awesome school, vibing in a city with a big artistic heritage, and eating a lot of Stroopwafel which is a traditional dutch sweet treat. I would like to study and live there for its dynamic energy, romantic feeling, and of course its history, especially if we think is the place where the district of museums covers the Van Gogh museum, the modern museum of Stedelijk, and even we can see Rembrandt and Vermeer work at the Rijksmuseum.  I hope to make it true someday and experience this amazing city...
